Amazing Acclaim: TVOKids Receives Daytime Emmy and Youth Media Alliance Award Nominations

I’m so pleased to share that TVO’s multi-platform educational content is being recognized with impressive accolades — TVOKids programs and digital media have received 12 Daytime Emmy Award nominations and 14 Youth Media Alliance nominations.

When I look at the following list, I am struck by a powerful intersection: content geared to 21st-century learners, fun and engaging storytelling, critical acclaim, and success in the marketplace… all happening because of TVO. What an amazing Ontario success story that we can all be proud of.

Daytime Emmy Award nominations:

  • Odd Squad received six nominations — for Outstanding Children’s Series; Outstanding Writing in a Children’s or Pre-School Children’s Series; Outstanding Directing in a Children’s or Pre-School Children’s Series; Outstanding Single Camera Editing; Outstanding Sound Editing – Live Action; and Outstanding Hairstyling
  • Dino Dan: Trek’s Adventures received two nominations — for Outstanding Pre-School Children’s Series; and Outstanding Directing in a Children’s or Pre-School Children’s Series
  • Dinosaur Train received a nomination for Outstanding Writing in a Preschool Animated Program category
  • WordGirl received a nomination for Outstanding Writing in an Animated Program
  • Wild Kratts received a nomination for Outstanding Directing in an Animated Program
  • Annedroids received a nomination for Outstanding Directing in a Children’s or Pre-School Children’s Series

Youth Media Alliance Award nominations:

  • Hi Opie! Interactive for the Award of Excellence, Best Convergent Website, alongside other TVOKids properties, Annedroids Appisodes, Finding Stuff Out Online (season 3), and Odd Squad Interactive.

  • It Matters, our animated series that tackles the topic of bullying, for the Award of Excellence for Best Television Program, Animation, Ages 6—8 Category
