TVO Celebrates Black History Month

Black History Month is a time to celebrate and honour the achievements, culture and stories of Black Canadians.

TVO Media Education Group (TVO) is committed to celebrating Black excellence and amplifying Black voices throughout the year, recognizing that the richness of Black history and culture deserves ongoing reflection and celebration. This month, we shine a spotlight on works from Black filmmakers and storytellers whose creativity and vision continue to inspire and educate, and on the powerful stories of Black communities and their legacies.

Across our TVO Today, TVO docs, and TVOkids channels, we have curated content that aims to inspire reflection, learning, and celebration of the richness of Black history. As an organization committed to equitable access to educational experiences for all Ontarians, we intend this content to highlight Black stories that should be better known, to spark respectful dialogue, and provide moments for learning to create a province and country with better understanding, compassion and inclusion for all.
