As we move towards year end, we’re thrilled to share that TVOkids made the most recent Kidscreen Hot50 Top 10 list, coming in as the #9 kids broadcaster for 2017. Voted by industry peers, TVOkids makes its debut ranking alongside other industry heavyweights. Nominations were also received in the Kidscreen Awards in the categories of ‘best programming block’ and ‘best website’.
TVOkids Dino Dana, Splash and Bubbles, and Odd Squad programming received nominations for Kidscreen Awards as well. Congratulations to Sinking Ship Entertainment, our co-producer, for receiving multiple Kidscreen Awards nominations and placing on the Kidscreen Hot50 list in the Production category.
From Kidscreen: “Hot50 newcomer TVOkids came to play this year, commissioning 70 hours of original educational content. The Canadian pubcaster’s programs earned 17 Daytime Emmy Award nominations, one International Emmy win, 16 Canadian Screen Awards and 12 Youth Media Alliance Awards. Diving into the online world, TVO Kids launched two ad-free YouTube channels, attracting more than seven million views this year.”
