TVO’s The Agenda with Steve Paikin is now accessible to Ontarians with a simple voice command. TVO has partnered with VoiceX Labs to make the podcast of this unique, in-depth current affairs program available on Amazon’s cloud-based, voice-activated digital assistant Alexa.
“TVO is continually exploring innovations to connect our journalism with where people want to interact, helping to ensure informed and engaged citizens, and a stronger democracy,” says John Ferri, TVO Vice President, Current Affairs and Documentaries. “This collaboration with VoiceX Labs and Amazon adds The Agenda’s intelligent conversation and balanced, in-depth current affairs analysis to the mix of content people are accessing on multiple platforms, 24/7.”
Alexa requires an Amazon Echo or other Alexa-enabled device, and is based on applications, or skills, that allow users to create a more personalized experience. Developed for TVO by VoiceX Labs, The Agenda with Steve Paikin podcast skill is free. It can be accessed within Alexa’s Flash Briefing, a service that provides an overview of the latest news and other content.
“VoiceX was delighted to develop this platform for TVO,” says Chinmay Patel, Partner VoiceX Labs. “We see voice first experiences as a key to creating world class content and a way to bringing more meaningful information and context into everyone’s home.”
