TVO is excited to welcome Haley Lewis as the editor for our new Indigenous Hub. As part of TVO’s Ontario Hubs initiative, the Indigenous Hub is based out of Ottawa and will provide in-depth, on-the-ground coverage of Indigenous issues and perspectives across the province.
A graduate of the University of British Columbia’s master of journalism program, Haley specialized in First Nations and Indigenous studies. She has worked at CBC Vancouver, CBC Toronto, and CBC News in London, U.K. In 2018, she helped spearhead Indigenous coverage at HuffPost with Not My Territory*, a series about urban Indigenous perspectives. In its introductory essay, Haley writes: “Being able to uplift a variety of Indigenous voices is the reason I got into journalism.”
Haley joins a regionally-based TVO Ontario Hubs journalism team that includes: Northwestern Hub editor Jon Thompson, Southwestern Hub editor Mary Baxter, Eastern Hub editor David Rockne Corrigan, and Northeastern Hub editor Claude Sharma.
