On Friday May 27, The Globe and Mail published an enthusiastic review of the “must-see” TVO-commissioned documentary, My Millennial Life, which had its world broadcast premiere on TVO on Saturday, May 28 at 9 pm and can be streamed nationally at tvo.org.
Globe television critic John Doyle called the documentary “a major work about the current twentysomething generation” and that “as this lovely, textured documentary unfolds and we learn more about the subjects… all we can feel is sympathy.”
My Millennial Life explores the challenges facing today’s younger demographic, as it follows five individuals who are bridging the gap between expectations and reality. The 20-somethings are striving to achieve their dreams but are met with the reality of finding a job, paying their bills, and becoming financially independent from their parents.
Of director Maureen Judge, John Doyle highlighted her “excellent track record in documentaries” and “deft hand in revealing ordinary people in emotional detail without any contrivance.”
