I’m very proud to count Steve Paikin as a friend and colleague. Considered one of the country’s most respected journalists, Steve’s in-depth approach as anchor and senior editor of TVO’s flagship current affairs program, The Agenda with Steve Paikin brings to life TVO’s mission to make Ontarians smarter, more aware and more informed.
And so, on behalf of TVO, I’m very pleased to congratulate Steve on being named Chancellor of Laurentian University. Laurentian’s Chancellor acts as an ambassador for the university—and I can think of no better ambassador than Steve. In his role as Chancellor, I know that he’ll continue to inspire young people while broadening the public discussion around education.
Steve has strong ties to Laurentian University and to the City of Greater Sudbury. He is married to Francesca Grosso, who was raised in Sudbury, and his father-in-law, the late Dr. Roberto Grosso was a former Chair of the Board of Governors at Laurentian. In 2012, Steve received an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from Laurentian.
I look forward to celebrating Steve’s official installation as Chancellor in October.
