We are enjoying a vibrant fall season at TVO—and this weekend, we loved getting out into the community to meet our viewers, donors, fans and supporters!
On Sunday, we celebrated the love of literacy at the TVOKids Stage at Word on the Street Festival. We were thrilled and honoured to have Premier Kathleen Wynne read, “Stanley’s Party” by Linda Bailey from the TVOKids Stage. Thousands of book and literacy lovers cheered on the TVOKids hosts as they entertained with their interactive live stage experience and celebrated Gisèle’s 15th anniversary at TVO.
We also received great news this weekend: Steve Paikin is a bestselling author! His new book, Paikin and the Premiers is number two on the Globe and Mail’s bestsellers list for Canadian non-fiction.
On Saturday we hosted an Annual Meeting with TVO’s Regional Councillors Advisory Board. This advisory network of 35 volunteers represents many Ontario communities, and is an integral part of TVO’s community outreach. Every year we look forward to inviting our Regional Councillors to Toronto to hear their invaluable feedback on TVO programs and services. We are grateful for their time and input!
Plus, we were also proud to be the media sponsor of the Toronto Mini Maker Faire 2013—an innovation festival where kids and adults played with robots, learned about 3D printing and tried out our gesture technology game, Caterpillar Count.
