Current Canadian version of GED test available until Spring 2024
Toronto, Ontario, Canada – As of Spring 2024, Pearson VUE GED Testing Service (GEDTS) will cease to provide GED® testing in Canada. The current Canadian version of the GED® will continue to be available through TVO ILC until that time and remains a viable way to earn a high school equivalency certificate in Ontario.
Important information and dates can be found at ged.ilc.org. Candidates must register to write the GED by January 31, 2024, and must schedule their test dates by March 31, 2024. After this date, Canadians will no longer be able to schedule a test date for the current version of the GED.
Every year, TVO ILC provides thousands of online learners with the opportunity to earn credits and build knowledge in a flexible, affordable way. As part of these educational offerings, TVO ILC has long been Ontario’s sole provider of the General Educational Development (GED)® test, which offers learners the opportunity to earn an Ontario Secondary School Equivalency Certificate signed by the Minister of Education. The ministry is working with TVO regarding possible future opportunities. Updates will be posted to ged.ilc.org as more information becomes available.
