TVO’s CEO Jeffrey Orridge to receive 2022 Leadership Award at the Afroglobal Excellence Awards

Presented by Afroglobal Television, Silvertrust Media and the Transformation Institute for Leadership & Innovation

Toronto, Ontario, Canada – On Saturday, October 29, 2022, TVO’s CEO Jeffrey Orridge will be honoured for his leadership roles and exemplary work at a red-carpet ceremony. The Afroglobal Television Excellence Awards showcase the aspirations and achievements of individuals, organizations, businesses, and agencies that make a profound difference in the lives of people of African descent worldwide.

As the recipient of the 2022 Leadership Award, Orridge will join a growing legacy of celebrated leaders such as General Motors president Kevin Williams, Jamaica’s first female prime minister Portia Simpson-Miller, Nobel Prize winner Professor Wole Soyinka, Hollywood star Isaiah Washington, Olympic gold medalist Daniel Igali, and others.

“I am deeply honoured to receive this award, particularly because of how it closely aligns with TVO’s guiding purpose to inspire learning that changes lives and enriches communities,” says Orridge. “Afroglobal Television plays such an important role in reflecting the lived experiences of Africans and those in the African Diaspora. I hope to contribute to the rich traditions supported by all past honorees.”

Orridge was nominated by members of the public and selected by a panel under the direction of Silvertrust Media, the Transformation Institute and Afroglobal Television. The Afroglobal Television Excellence Awards will take place at the Meridian Arts Centre in Toronto.
