MEDIA ADVISORY: TVO over-the-air TV service outage affecting Ottawa

TVO Media Education Group logo

Toronto, Ontario, May 13, 2024 – TVO customers who use over-the-air (OTA) TV service in the Ottawa area will experience a service disruption during the afternoon of Monday, May 13, 2024, while tower maintenance is conducted by another service provider. This work should be complete by 5pm ET and service should resume at that time.

From May 14 – May 16, 2024, between 9 am – 5 pm ET, the Ottawa tower will also be operating on reduced power to accommodate maintenance by another service provider. This means that the further TVO OTA customers are from our tower located in Chelsea, ON, the greater the chance of signal issues to occur during this period. Work will take place throughout the week as the weather permits.

Customers should note that this is an issue with the tower that services TVO and no adjustments to your receiving antennas or equipment are required. Those customers watching TVO on cable TV or satellite services, or accessing TVO online, will not be impacted.

We apologize for any inconvenience this outage may cause. TVO programming can always be viewed on our websites – and, or on our YouTube channels.
