TVO is pleased to announce that Ottawa native and entrepreneur Chris Day will lead TVO’s board of directors at a critical juncture in TVO’s digital transformation.
Chris is president of Winston-Wilmont, Inc., a bilingual public affairs consultancy. He has more than 20 years of leadership experience in the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors, having led multiple workplace and digital-first transformations. Chris began his career as a broadcast journalist with experience in both radio and television, locally, nationally, and internationally.
Chris was appointed to the TVO board of directors in August 2019 for a three-year term and will serve the balance of that term as chair of the board.
“Chris’s commitment to community service and his leadership experience have been evident in the contributions he has made since joining TVO’s board,” said Conway Fraser, who has served as TVO’s interim chair since March 2019 and will remain on the board as a director. “I know he will be an outstanding chair for TVO, and I look forward to continuing to work with him.”
“I’m very pleased to welcome Chris as our new chair,” said Jennifer Hinshelwood, Acting Chief Operating Officer of TVO. “His experience and leadership promoting innovation in the public and not-for-profit sectors will be valuable as we continue to build TVO as a leader in digital learning and current affairs.”
In accordance with the Ontario Educational Communications Authority Act, TVO’s board of directors is appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council to provide strategic oversight for the organization while ensuring value for all Ontarians.
