Toronto, Ontario, Tuesday, September 1, 2026 – TVO Media Education Group (TVO) is rolling out a packed Fall schedule across TVO.org, TVOkids.com, and broadcast featuring much anticipated premieres and new seasons of fan favourites.
The Rundownreturns for a second season and hot podcast (MIS)Treated expands to include broadcast as it connects more audiences with the realities of women’s health care. The fall lineup also features a strong slate of documentaries, from Rico King’s award-winning Nekai Walks, a powerful story of survival and resilience, to For the Love of Star Trek, which celebrates the iconic series’ 60th anniversary with archival footage, and Stress Test, a new series exploring one man’s search for relief from modern-day stress.
Ontario families ready for a break from the busyness of fall can gather together for excellent co-viewing shows with new episodes of Old Enough!, M is for Me, and Interstellar Ella.
New TVO Original Documentaries
For the Love of Star Trek *Documentary* (45 min) Premieres Monday, September 7. This documentary explores how one bold TV series became a global phenomenon, inspiring generations and reimagining the future as a place of hope. Tune in for archival TVO interviews with the show’s creator, Gene Roddenberry, and stars of the original series, to hear the stories behind the starship and how the show changed television forever. Nekai Walks *Documentary* (90 min) Premieres Sunday, September 20. Nekai Walks follows the extraordinary recovery of Nekai Foster, a young Black Canadian who was caught in a hail of gunfire on his walk home – an innocent victim of a retaliatory shooting he had no connection to. Through intimate verité footage, family testimony, and community voices, the film chronicles Nekai’s journey from a ventilator and brain surgery to the painstaking process of relearning how to sit, speak, and walk. Winner of the Rogers Audience Award for Best Canadian Documentary and the Docs for Schools Student Choice Award at the 2026 Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival.
